people dance in their homes to songs they have never heard before. "The Red Shoes"––named after the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen––is the result of Hensches collaboration with living-room-dancers, who have responded on the artist's open call in Berlin. Through the lens of their webcam, we can see how they listen, how they move, how they pause and skip to the next song. At the same time, we hear their voices, which speak the names of the songs selected for them by the digital music service Spotify. On the basis of their previous listening behavior, the companies algorithms created for each dancer an individual playlist called “Tastebreaker”, which should expand their musical taste.
